What a fracking joke this is!!!

What a waste of tax payer dollars!!!

If any one Veteran or advocacy group thinks for one second they are going to make a difference in attending any of these meetings they needs to give their head a shake. I'm sorry but if anyone thinks of attending these meetings they haven't been paying attention. In actuality attending these meetings are actually doing harm to disabled Veterans by feeding the governments PR machine. A little common sense goes a long ways in making the right choice of advocating on behalf of disabled Veterans. It is true we did not join the service to become advocates for disabled Veterans but the government has put us in this position where we have no choice but to learn as we go to try and better the Veterans file. The file itself has changed from a service sacrifice to an insurance model that throws the sacrifice out the window. If history has not showed us the purpose of these meetings we have not learned a thing. These meetings are meant to feed the governments PR machine plain and simple. It is the bureaucrats that run the file not the Minister even though it's perceived differently it is geared for PR purposes only. It feeds those who attend egos which serves the attender but does nothing for the file itself. So the next time you hear someone say I'm fighting for you guys, say thanks but what progress or change have you made? This may sound mean but the intent is not to sound but to bring reality to the forefront.

You want to change things? To easy boycott these pricks. Yes the Legion and others would still attend but the point is to send a signal even if only a few boycott it.

You want to change things? Instead of negotiating with a brick wall why not focus all your energy on anything but Liberal today? Get out there and show the Country what has transpired on our file sense 2006 up to this Liberal government today. It is not that complicated. We are wasting our time by trying to negotiate our way to better the file, this apparently is not shared by many in advocating for us but just look at the past history and make your conclusion. It is not rocket science, it is common sense. That's exactly what the government wants, they want to negotiate by holding these type of meetings so they can look like they care about us and we just continue time and time again to fall right into their trap.

You have to understand that Seamus actually thinks he and his government are doing right on what they have done and continue to do on our file. Do you think your going to somehow change Seamus is mind? Seamus is holding a position until another individual steps in. Neither him or anyone else is going to act on what Veterans are asking for. In his mind he thinks he is doing good, that is why we need to boycott him and those that surround him. We without any doubt need to change the way we do business, it's as simple as that.

Thanks Trooper, exactly my sentiments. VAC minister: always junior position, learning the ropes: vote the bums out.
On another note, just got an email that The islamic Humnanitarian Service of Kitchener, run by Sheikh Shafiq Huda got a summer grant from Liberals. Over 1500 hundred groups did not get a grant this summer (because they are Christian and would not sign the 'attestation' supporting Trudeau's personal moral beliefs! Vote the bums out and do not attend any of those PR sessions (is you have any self respect). My two cents.

ITS ALL ABOUT SAVING MONEY THE NEW VETERAN CHARTER

Post by ScottyG on Sat 23 Jun 2018, 1:29 pm

I think some things have improved.
Not because of the government but because of veteran support groups.
Will it ever be as simple as the Pension act ? No!
Will the NVC ever be as good or as costly as the PA would have been if it had stay around?  No!

The PA if it had of stay in place would have been a nightmare for the government to fund. The tax free pensions, + COL annual increases in the pensions with the now demanding, informed, educated, injured soldiers would now cost billions yes billions more per year than with the NVC.

Nevertheless, a veteran coming home injured now receives lots, not as much as they once got.
Life isnt fair! Never will be!
(ELB CIA CIAS PFL IRB medical care home care rehab training disability awards Spousal retraining just some of the benefits)

Now if we can cut the BS Adm stuff. Decrease the wait times. Provide PTSD clinics across Canada.Veteran will be in a much better place.

"We are here to listen, and to learn" means nothing if you do not put into practice what you have learned.

Seamus O'Regan is in Vancouver, British Columbia.

June 26, 2018

Today we met with Vancouver's Veterans and their advocates.

We talked, we learned and, most importantly, we listened.

This isn't about politics. This is about better services for our Veterans.

And I'm committed to that.

I guess if you "cherry pick" your audience you are going to HEAR WHAT THE HELL YOU WANT!

I believe Seamus should be sitting in the middle of the circle if he wants to be a good pivot man shouldn't he????

Seamus is going to do as he's predecessors have done, persuade or convince the Country that the government has it's best interest on the well being of Veterans and their families. One tool at their disposal is holding summits. The summits of course makes the government look good in the majority of Canadians. Those who attend the summits are actually supporting the government, and of course helping the governments task at convincing the Country they have our best interest. Those that submit the claim they have to go to these summits simply because they want to inform those outside what transpired at the summits are not convincing me of the claim, and here's why. Those same individuals state the summits are for PR purposes only, and nothing is being accomplished because of it's solely PR purpose, so they already know the process, the purpose and the outcomes so why do they attend?

These summits, town halls need to be boycotted. Seamus needs to be boycotted. If you don't boycott, don't complain.
