Is this shocking? Yes. But remember there is a serial killer Col who was Trenton's CO that is collecting his pension in jail.

Well said Colin.

What I would like to know is are veterans with PTSD in jail right now getting treatment or are they getting the bureaucratic reach around?

Why is Veterans Affairs even involved? Canadian prison systems have these treatments already in place.

WTF we have Veterans waiting for approvals which can be over a year whereas this guy gets treatment benefits for a murder he committed he say's caused his PTSD, and a non Veteran at that!!!

How long did it take for this to get approved? Was it approved the first time around?

I knew this government has a habit for doing the complete opposite of the norm, but doesn't this take the cake?

It's almost as if they are throwing this in our face to piss us off!

Why haven't we heard from Seamus O’Regan? Is he not in charge of the Veterans Affairs? This is all mind blowing but not really surprising given the lack of leadership our Minister has. That's what you get when you put an individual in charge of a file, who hasn't the slightest idea of that file. Very good example of how screwed up the system really is. Quite frankly just another situation that could have been prevented if the system was working proactively for disabled Veterans. What's Seamus going to say now, we can't please everyone? I think Veterans Affairs needs a complete revamp, and return back to the pension act, and have DND look after non medically released Veterans, and DVA look after medically released Veterans.

As it stands now those in charge of our file have betrayed us to the highest level!

We need to spread the word on this asap!

Wow, I am shocked by this story. I wonder if the family members who lost their loved one to this shitrat has been burdened with the costs of grief counselling and funeral expenses as a result of this crime. Maybe VAC or GOC should take the monies being paid out for ptsd counselling and donate it to the family of the officer killed by this son of a bitch.

Touche' Newf.

Mmm, JAFO wrote ... " But remember there is a serial killer Col who was Trenton's CO that is collecting his pension in jail. "

Yup, the creepy colonel. And as bad as THAT scenario is, it's a false comparison to this
" Man who killed off-duty cop receiving PTSD treatment funded by Veterans Affairs "

...Who never served and yet is under the benefits of his father who did ???
Short of a shyte storm,   VaC remains .... fubar.
