O’Regan Says Government Is Committed To Lifelong Pensions For Veterans

Veterans Affairs Minister Seamus O’Regan says government will live up to their commitment on lifelong pensions for veterans.
Vets have been in Ottawa lobbying for the lifelong pension, promised in the last election campaign. O’Regan says they can expect to hear something on that by the end of the year, and that his office has been working to have something ready within the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, O’Regan is thrilled to see more and more young people taking Remembrance Day seriously, and getting out to pay their respects to veterans.
He’s amazed by the programs young people are involved in, and the respect shown to veterans.

Seamus O’Regan say's that we can expect to hear something on the lifelong pension by the end of this year.
I don't think anybody doubts that, in fact that is not new news, we were told this a couple of Months ago.
By the way Seamus, you say that your government will live up to their commitment on lifelong pensions for veterans?
That's what your predecessor Hehr said. Hehr also said that he was told by Veterans and Veteran groups to take your time on the lifelong pension, take your time and get it right Hehr was told. It would be nice to know which Veterans, and which groups called for this?
I hope Seamus is enjoying his time as Minister, because once this lifelong pension announcement is made, the party for him will be over, and he will be left scratching his head wondering why Veterans and Veteran groups are outraged by the announcement. He said he has a lot to learn, he will learn soon enough.

Words are talk only...not action. They said they would reinstate monthly pensions before they got elected. Two years later...veterans still wait. It is not rocket science. Get it done. All the politicians are doing is flapping their mouths and not taking action.
