Wonder how this will work. Let's say they gave someone $300,000 in a lump sum. And then they determined what they would have qualified for with a VAC disability pension. Once you subtract 300K, it could be a few years before they started actually receiving a monthly pension from VAC.

Well one thing we know is that O’Regan has absolutely no clue about the aspects of the lifelong pension. The bureaucrats like everything else will be fully responsible for whatever it is they bring forward.

Nemo, in terms of someone having a $300,000 lump sum, and working out the difference in this new upcoming pension announcement, I'm sure the bureaucrats have figured this out. The bureaucrats are well experienced in this area, they will get this out, but I'm sure it will be a huge disappointment. Remember what they did with the disability award retro, they deducted the cpi going back resulting in Veterans getting less amounts, the further back the retro went. The ELB increase, they changed the basic minimum from corporal, to senior private. I expect the same from this pension promise, it will not be worth the paper it's written on.

Remember, the government when asked previously on the status of the lifelong pension publicly said they were told by veterans and veteran groups to TAKE YOUR TIME with the promise of the lifelong pension, the government said WE WANT TO GET IT RIGHT!

Well let's just see if they get it right.

So this is turning into one hell of a week for the Libs:
- back track on small business tax
- back track on taxing employee discounts
- Morneau, in hindsight, should have put his multi-million dollar wealth in a blind trust....especially after it was discovered his business has made about $3 million since he has been the Finance Minister
- CRA takes away disability tax credit for Type 1 Diabetics because (you just can't make this shyte up) diabetics with an insulin pump are not spending a minimum of 14 hours a week "treating" their condition. Question? Doesn't wearing an insulin pump require 24/7, 365 days a year the users attention to make sure it is working?
- the CRA is going to dig their heels in that bureaucrats CAN and DO have the authority to overturn a Doctor's decision about diabetes. Sounds familiar for some reason???
- fall financial update and not a single word on the return of the lifelong pension from our Entitled Finance Minister. Weren't we supposed to get some info/update on the lifelong during the fall financial update?

So in summation....The Liberals have spent the last month backtracking on issues that affect Jane/Joe Canadian voters decision and absolutely no time preparing a statement on the lifelong pension status for the smaller voting block of Canadian Veterans.

Yeah the bureaucrats are definitely going to figure out how to get that $300,000 back Nemo. Afterall they are taking their time to "get it right". And here I was thinking they were taking their time to "get it right" for the benefit of veterans....not recouping payments already made.

OLD ARTICLE. DOES IT STILL STAND TRUE TODAY?
http://elizabethmaymp.ca/vision-green/p4.15
Answers by the end of the year...maybe.
Can someone confirm this.
There are articles/FB groups/forums/ all stating different facts "fictional/ second hand/inside sources" who knows...

Here is what is out there:
1.  It is the lump-sum divided as a monthly option &
2.  An announcement at year's end.

So, which one is it?
