CPP Empty CPP

Had a question put to me from a veteran.

He finally after years of fighting received notification that he is going to receive a monthly pension..its great news.

The question was ; he turns 60 this weekend and expects to collect CPP very son, will that change change his Monthly VAC pension? I am thinking to advise him to defer CPP till 65......

If the pension his receiving from VAC is the IRB, his CPP will be deducted as an (offset), dollar for dollar.

In any event it would make sense to hold off until your 65 to collect your CPP, if possible.
