International Women’s Day
Veterans Affairs Canada shared a post. March 8, 2019
Today, thousands of women serve in the #CAF and continue to pave the way for the following generation. It was the determination of individual trailblazers and the collective hard work of women in the military throughout the decades that has brought us to this moment. Are you ready to be part of the success of women in the Canadian Armed Forces? #InternationalWomensDay #BalanceForBetter #InnovateForChange #IWD2019

On International Women’s Day we honour the women who serve our country and recognize the sacrifices they make to protect us.
Both female and male #Veterans share many of the same experiences when transitioning from military to civilian life, but as Dr. Maya Eichler of Mt. St. Vincent University explains, women also face unique challenges. #IWD

Women Veterans and stakeholders came together on 23 May, 2019 for the very first Women Veterans’ Forum in Charlottetown. The goal was to develop ideas and potential solutions, and ultimately better the lives of Canadian women who have served, do serve, and will serve in the CAF. #SheServedToo

The number of women in the Canadian Armed Forces is on the rise. This means the number of women Veterans is also growing. A few of these servicewomen are sharing their experiences in writing after release. This article highlights four books written by women Veterans:

Canada Remembers
Women make our military stronger.
Our military history has been shaped by the contributions of women – from the Nursing Sisters in the First World War to the first women in combat during the Gulf War. Today, women proudly serve alongside men in a growing number of trades in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
As March draws to a close and the last of the International Women’s Day celebrations take place, we honour all of the women who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces throughout the years.
You are source of strength and inspiration to Canadians.
