We held consultations with subject-matter experts and people with lived experience to inform how the MST Peer Support program will be developed. All the feedback received following these consultations helped us create this program model and adapted it to serve the needs of the Military Sexual Trauma Community.
Once fully launched, the Peer Support program will allow participants to choose the format of peer support that will best meet their needs. They will also have the flexibility to change from one format to another at any time. Today, during our virtual event, we announced our new and expanded support services:
- The launch of our online peer support platform with Togetherall, the first feature of our Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Peer Support program; and
- The expansion of our Response and Support Coordination (RSC) program beyond the National Capital Region (NCR) (Ottawa/Gatineau) to Nunavut, Quebec and Pacific (British Columbia and Yukon) regions.
We also took the opportunity to remind class members of the Canadian Armed Forces-Department of National Defence Sexual Misconduct Class Action Settlement that the Duty to Report does not apply for participants of the Restorative Engagement (RE) program.
