At Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, we take pride in helping Canadian Armed Forces members and their families handle many unique aspects of the military lifestyle. Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to postings and deployments, and make the most of everyday activities such as recreation and sports.
We believe that when Canadian Armed Forces personnel are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign the kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, or organize their finances, our services are here to help.

Helping Our Peers by Providing Empathy (HOPE) is a program offered by the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group to assist military family members who have lost a loved one. Trained volunteers, who have experienced a similar loss, provide confidential peer support and act as positive role models to help grieving families. HOPE program volunteers are there to support the family with compassion and without judgment, as well as to help normalize pain in their journey to recovery and healing. Peers provide a unique perspective to grieving families as they can support them with a common understanding of the military lifestyle and community.
If you have lost a military loved one and are going through a difficult time, please do not hesitate to reach out if you are suffering – someone will understand and support you. The first step is to contact HOPE at HOPE-ESPOIR@forces.gc.ca or call 1-800-883-6094 (toll free).
