Mental Health Benefits: When you apply for a disability benefit for a mental health condition such as anxiety or depressive / trauma-and-stressor-related disorders, you receive immediate coverage for treatment.

This includes prescription drugs as well as treatment and services from psychologists, counsellors, social workers, and other mental health professionals.

Coverage can last up to two years from the date we receive your application.

Mental health challenges can arise at any time –know that supports are there for you.

To ensure you have support when you need it most, we created the Mental Health Benefit.

If you have applied for disability benefits, you are now immediately covered for certain mental health conditions. Coverage will last for two years, regardless of the outcome of your application.

CAF Veterans can apply for Disability Benefits for mental health conditions like anxiety or depression and get immediate mental health coverage for up to two years, regardless of approval.

If the Disability Benefits application is approved, coverage will continue for as long as needed under the Treatment Benefits program. Coverage includes prescriptions and services like mental health counselling.
