What steps to take when a Veteran passes away?
It is important that no delays in contacting the proper departments from a death of a Veteran are made to eliminate any over payments, and to ensure that survivor benefits are put in place.
If you are the spouse or a family member of a Veteran, and the Veteran has passed away, the following contact list should be contacted if applicable:
