Veterans Affairs Canada is hiring up to 30 new employees in New Brunswick.
July 12, 2018 – Moncton, NB – Veterans Affairs Canada

Honouring our Veterans means more than commemorating the past. It means giving them a high standard of service where and when they need it. It means hiring more frontline staff to ensure Veterans and their families are being supported.

In an effort to increase service delivery to Veterans and their families and deliver the Pension for Life plan previously announced in December 2017, Veterans Affairs Canada is hiring up to 30 new employees in New Brunswick. These new employees are part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to provide service and care to Veterans and their families.

This investment was announced in Budget 2018 and builds upon investments made over the last three years. Budget 2016 improved financial security for many Veterans. Budget 2017 focused on the well-being of Veterans and their families and invested in mental health supports, education opportunities, caregiver supports and career transition services. Budget 2018 and the Pension for Life plan will bring further financial supports and services for Veterans.

Quick facts
In December 2017, the Government of Canada announced its Pension for Life plan that will provide holistic benefits, including financial stability, for Canada’s Veterans, with a particular focus on those most disabled.

The Government of Canada is providing $42.8 million over two years, starting in 2018 – 19, to increase service delivery capacity at Veterans Affairs Canada.

Since 2016, more than 460 new employees have been hired.
