“The thing that keeps me going is what’s behind me and what’s in front of me—my family and my friends.” Bill “Mother” Irving’s service included two tours in Afghanistan and the loss of four friends to an improvised explosive device. He’s learned different ways to manage the transition to post-service life. His advice to other transitioning Veterans: Have a plan. Learn about the support that’s available. And don’t isolate yourself.

Learn more about Mother’s compelling story.

The administrative aspect of transitioning to post-military life can be difficult. If you are a CAF member preparing to release, check out the Member Transition Task List. You can track the activities you need to complete during your transition to life after service. Find it on My VAC Account or on our website at Transition - Page 3 2010343111 Member Transition Task List
