More than 26,000 Canadians served in the Korean War.
516 never made it home.
Today in Brampton, we honoured the 66th Anniversary of this bitter conflict, and remembered those brave Canadians who left home in the defence of freedom.

Nurses, like Lt. Bredt, played an invaluable role during the Italian Campaign.
Proud to unveil this year’s Veterans’ Week Poster, which commemorates those who served in Italy.

Today in Dartmouth we announced over $775,000 in support of two organizations who are doing great work for Canada's veterans and their families with better mental health supports.
Thank you for all you do, Canadian Women’s Wellness Initiative and Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia!

Great news today — Victoria has been named 1 of 2 finalists to host the Invictus Games in 2022!
The Invictus Games Foundation plays a vital role in helping Veterans transition into civilian life.
We’re proud to support this bid and look forward to hosting in 2022!

Veterans have always suffered from Operational Stress Injuries. But now, we’re better at helping our veterans deal with them.
Today in Stratford, Premier Dennis King and I announced the newest addition to VAC’s Network of OSI clinics across Canada – a Satellite Service Site for veterans right here on PEI.
OSI clinics are operated by the provinces, with support from VAC. These Sites bring together teams of experts to provide our veterans with the specialized care they need, and help them down the path towards recovery.

Serene View Ranch has been providing world-class mental health services to veterans and their families since 2014.
This morning, I visited them in Alexandra, PE to talk about how the Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund will help them continue to improve the treatment and supports they provide our veterans.

Hey MVA once again your establishment has fracked up you had ample time to get SRB calculations out and have them prepared correctly but once again veterans have been screwed around I was informed today by a Vac representative that a lot of the calculations were not correct!!! Wow wow wow but again I shouldn’t be surprised at the incompetence when it comes to the veterans file

Today, on Battle of the Atlantic Sunday, I laid a wreath in honour of the Canadians who served and gave their lives at sea during the Second World War.
Victory would have been impossible without them.
Remember them.

Canada Remembers
In Flanders Fields was written 106 years ago today.
Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, a Canadian military doctor in the First World War, was inspired to write this poem after his friend, Lieutenant Alexis Helmer, was killed in action. He was buried in a makeshift grave, where wild poppies bloomed between the crosses marking the graves of fallen soldiers.
McCrae wrote In Flanders Fields the very next day from the back of an ambulance. It was published that same year and became the most famous poem from the First World War.

Through the Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund, we’re providing funding to Team Rubicon Canada to support their Veteran Pandemic Recovery Project.
It was great to connect with them to hear about the work they’ve been doing.

For the first time since 1971, this year’s Census includes a Veteran identifier question, which will give us some truly accurate data on our Veteran population and help us make better decisions for them and their families.
