Dive back in: RCN skilled re-enrollment now available
The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) is actively seeking to re-enroll former sailors who were fully trained in an RCN occupation and continue to meet enrollment requirements. In an effort to reduce wait times the Canadian Armed Forces Recruiting Group (CFRG) has streamlined the re-enrollment process for previous Regular Force skilled applicants. Anyone considering coming back to the RCN should fill out an application and CFRG will work to expedite your re-enrolment.
Details Here: RCN skilled re-enrollment now available

Halifax sailor faces smuggling, child pornography, weapons charges
Published: Feb 11. 2021
The Royal Canadian Navy is conducting an administrative review of a sailor who faces Customs Act and Criminal Code charges in Dartmouth provincial court.
Sailor First Class Francois Nadeau, a boatswain on HMCS Toronto, was arrested Wednesday after Canada Border Services Agency officers obtained a warrant to search his residence in Lake Loon, near Dartmouth.
The search was part of an investigation into the alleged smuggling of prohibited goods, described in court documents as dolls “depicting the sexual exploitation of children.”
Officers allegedly seized a doll, a firearm and a switchblade, which is a prohibited weapon.
Nadeau, 28, is charged under the Customs Act with two counts of smuggling or attempting to smuggle prohibited goods and one count of possessing illegally imported goods.
He also faces Criminal Code charges of importing and possessing child pornography, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, and careless storage of a firearm.
The smuggling offences are alleged to have been committed last Oct. 14 and Dec. 1.
Nadeau appeared in court Thursday by video from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth.
The Crown consented to his release on a $1,000 bail order with conditions prohibiting him from having contact with or being around anyone under the age of 16 and from attending parks, playgrounds, schools, recreation centres and other places where children can reasonably expected to be present.
Nadeau is also banned from having firearms, prohibited weapons, ammunition and explosives except in the immediate course of his employment with the Canadian Forces.
The charges will be back in court in April, after Nadeau retains legal counsel.
Maj. Mark Gough, a spokesman for Maritime Forces Atlantic, said the military just learned of the charges against Nadeau on Thursday morning.
He said Nadeau has been in the Navy for 10 years.
“An administrative review of his current situation is … underway,” Gough said.
“As legal proceedings are ongoing, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further on this situation, however, the RCN takes these charges very seriously and will co-operate fully with CBSA and other civilian authorities on this matter, as required.”
