When RCMP Sgt. (ret) Daphne McFee searched for information to help her children cope with her husband’s post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), she couldn’t find much.

So she decided to write a book to help them and others in similar situations.

“When PTSD enters a home, everyone is impacted by it,” McFee explains.

Serving the community – in service and after.

Jason Green joined the RCMP to help people. He continues to serve his New Brunswick community, helping Veterans find housing.

“The Mountie is a symbol of safety and security, looked up to by the community and society,” he explains. Also, he knew that serving in the RCMP would provide him with an opportunity to see the rest of Canada, while helping people in local communities.

Today marks the 150th anniversary of the creation of the North-West Mounted Police, the forerunner of our country’s iconic Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Happy birthday RCMP! In addition to their service here in Canada, thousands of Mounties have also taken part in international peace operations over the years.

Leaving the RCMP can be challenging. You don’t need to handle it alone.

A case manager can help you identify your needs, create a plan and ensure you achieve your goals.

Start planning ahead and learn how you and your family could benefit from case management services.

After serving with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for more than 20 years, Kelly Willis was looking for a new adventure.

She applied for an international job opportunity in peacekeeping, and was selected for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali, Africa.

Willis was one of the first two Canadian police officers – and the first female officer – to deploy to this region.

As a proud Cree Nation descendent, she shared her story with women at the grand opening of the Police Commissariat in the city of Gao, Mali, in 2019.

Join us in thanking Kelly Willis for her exceptional service.

Meet the Morse family: Pioneers of progress in the RCMP.

In 1974, Donna Morse and her colleagues would forever change the face of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) when they were sworn in as the RCMP’s first female officers.

Donna’s trailblazing continued when she and Ron Morse became the first married service couple within the RCMP.

Years later, their daughter, Sandra Morse, would follow their footsteps by joining the RCMP.

Meet former RCMP member Laurie White.

She was shot while on duty and had to have her leg amputated as a result.

After ten challenging months of intense, daily physical therapy, she returned to full-time duties.

Today, Laurie encourages everyone to look after their physical and mental health.

‘’The key is to develop self-awareness and develop individuals’ strategies to avoid darkness.’’
