Veterans Affairs Minister Seamus O’Regan heads to Kingston for an evening town hall on the “Pension For Life” program, which, as per the advisory, launched on April 1 as “part of an overall well-being package.”

I'm assuming they are using the town halls as a means of communicating to Veterans reference the PFL. Registering would give them control over the event, and would give them an Idea of who, and how much is attending.
Someone should ask at the town hall about the April 01, 2019 implementation date, the PFL is now written in legislation, and the Minister said the writing of the legislation is the main reason for the April 01, 2019 implementation date.
