Veterans Affairs Canada Oct 20. 2021Today, we remember Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who lost his life on this day in 2014 after an attack in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
After joining the Canadian Armed Forces in 1986, he spent 28 years as an air force firefighter. His career took him to bases across the country and warships in different parts of the world.
He was a dedicated service member who took pride in his role helping others.
Seven years later, we continue to honour his service and sacrifice.

Today we remember Master Corporal Byron Greff, who died on this day in 2011 in Afghanistan.
He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces while he was still a teenager and served with the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
He lost his life when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle in Kabul. It was his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
He was the last of the 158 Canadian Armed Forces members to die during our country’s 12-year mission there.
Ten years later, we remember all those who served and lost their lives in Afghanistan.
