As a loyal Sun reader and son of a Second World War combat veteran, I was disgusted with your cartoon on May 6. To equate Winnipeg Jets hockey players raising the Canadian flag with the brave veterans of Iwo Jima raising their American flag is outrageous. There is absolutely no comparison between millionaire hockey players and the sacrifices of war veterans. I do not blame the Winnipeg Jets because they did not create the cartoon. And being a true blue Canadian myself, I hope they go the distance. But please think again before you draw a comparison between millionaire hockey players and brave war veterans. Any such comparison is absurd.
