Since the beginning of the pandemic our National Contact Centre Network (NCCN) has responded to 99% of the calls made to our 1-800 line, which represent over 50,000 calls, and 97% of these calls were answered in less than two minutes.

For over a century, Canadians have relied on census data to tell us about how our country is changing and what matters to us. When census takers reach out to Canadians next Spring they will be asking about Veteran and military service to get the most accurate and up-to-date information on how many Canadians have served or are serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. A clearer picture will lead to improved policies and programs that support Canadian Veterans.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of Victory over Japan (V-J) Day and the end of the Second World War. More than one million Canadians and Newfoundlanders enlisted during the Second World War, and more than 10,000 serving in Asia and the Pacific. Tell us who, how and why you remember.

For the past several years, VAC has been working closely with Statistics Canada to include a question in the next census to help identify Veterans. This information will help inform supports and services for Canadian Veterans and their families for years to come. Be sure to fill out your census questionnaire when the time comes

The needs of Canadian Veterans are our priority—even if they’re living abroad. We serve Veterans in Australia, USA, New Zealand and the UK. A team in Halifax is entirely dedicated to the 1,436 Canadian Veterans and 1,303 survivors who reside outside of Canada in countries around the world. https://bit.ly/3aWW2m4
