Indigenous Peoples throughout Canada have a strong tradition of military service. It’s estimated over 12,000 Inuit, Métis and First Nations members served in the First and Second World Wars, and the Korean War.
Many more have bravely served our country since, in all branches of the military.

Are you a survivor of a Veteran who entered into a marriage/common-law relationship with a Veteran aged 60 and above? The University of British Columbia is currently looking for participants to join their Veteran Survivor Study. The study will inform future support strategies for survivors of Veterans. Seventy years ago today, the Korean War began. We honour and remember those Canadians who served in the multinational force to help defend peace and freedom in the Republic of Korea. #CanadaRemembers

Update on Wait Times
Update on Wait Times
To help reduce wait times for Veterans, we are improving the adjudication process for the most common conditions. For example, we’re reducing the evidence needed to adjudicate hearing loss and tinnitus applications. Following modern and best practices, we are looking at how to automate the hearing loss application process—using new digital tools to find, review and read electronic audiograms.

We are offering online sessions to show you how to connect with VAC from home; apply for benefits or services; set up direct deposit; and more. Plus there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions.
There will be an English session on July 22 and a French session July 23. Get the details on our Facebook Events page. http://ow.ly/6pHt50AAosE
Note: you do not need to be registered for My VAC Account to join the session.

We are now making corrective payments related to deceased benefit recipients who, between 2003-2010, received a disability pension or certain related benefits that we administer. If you are the legal representative of the estate of a deceased benefit recipient, please contact us. If you are legally entitled to inherit the assets of a deceased benefit recipient, you may apply to receive the corrective payment. https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/about-vac/news-media/alerts
