Looking for inspiration as you cheer on Team Canada?
Look to Steve Daniel. For 14 years he proudly served as a paratrooper with the Royal Canadian Regiment. After suffering a spinal cord injury, he turned to sports with the dream of one day becoming a Paralympian.
Only two years after his injury, he achieved his dream. He competed with the National Adaptive Rowing Team in the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, proving he was one of the best in the world.
Good luck to Team Canada at this year’s Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo!

Once home, she recognized that she needed help coping. During her treatment, she was diagnosed with PTSD and got the help she needed.

“It was hard to make the transition from a completely structured life. You get used to a structured life, a regular pay cheque and you’re always with colleagues and friends. Even when you go to the mess for a meal by yourself, you know friends will be there.’’

Bruno Guevremont served two tours in Afghanistan with two different branches of the CAF. Now, he’s sharing what he has learned about achieving goals in life after service.

Veteran Jeff Becker thinks of humanitarian service as “soul food.” His desire to serve led him to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) where he spent 15 years as a Combat Engineer.
Since releasing from the military in 2013, he has continued to find spiritual sustenance as a “Greyshirt” with Team Rubicon, helping communities in the B.C. Interior, northern Ontario and even Florida recover from disasters.
